BELAGAVI: The district administration has banned digging of private borewells with immediate effect, implementing the government order passed on August 20, 2016.   This is following the death of six-year-old Kaveri who died after she fell into a dry open borewell at Zunjarwad village of Athani taluk.   Hit by drought and depletion of groundwater table, the state had virtually banned new borewells in 45 of its 175 taluks. ZUNJARWAD (BELAGAVI): After a 50-hour incessant operation, rescue teams pulled out the body of Kaveri Ajit Madar, 6, around 11.30pm on Monday.
